Pirates CSG eBay Sealed Pack and Hot Card Pricing Report

Pricing Report for 1 Jan 2021 through 26 Apr 2021 <---Click to download

Here's a summary of recent eBay "hot" card prices for Wizkids Pirates CSG. I am tracking a lot more data than is shown in this report, but here I'll focus primarily on some of the "big" ships and unopened booster box/booster pack pricing.

Keep in mind that this is what something sold for on eBay - it's not my opinion of what's something's worth, and sometimes people can get very emotional when bidding on things. This is just the weighted average* of what things sold for.

The uber-rare Norwegian "Donald Duck" islands sold this month

Some top notes:

In the last ~2.5 months since my previous post, a lot of high-dollar ships have come on the market, probably in response to the increased prices; however, the price of the 10-masters and other similar ships has levelled out somewhat, or only increased by a few bucks. This is probably due to the larger supply coming onto the market. The average price of Zeus is up a bit, while the average of the Guichuan has gone done a few dollars. Rare 5-masters seem to be going up in price, into the $20-$25 range for a number of them (one Titan sold for 45, a Flying Dutchman for 48, and a Grand Temple for 65).

The big news, of course, is that several complete collections came on the market. One sold all at once for over $5k; while the other is getting auctioned off piecemeal, with the total sitting currently at $6500, with the Obago Deuce and 3 other expansions still to go. I suspect this collection will total near $8k when all is said and done.

Loose booster pack prices are generally up a bit. SCS packs are up to $28, FN up to $25, and CC and MI packs in the $14 range. Interestingly, a large amount of MI via sealed booster boxes came available, but that didn't drive loose MI booster pack prices down at all. Perhaps next quarter as some people crack those boxes and sell them...PotSM pack prices are actually down, and quite a few of them were sold. Rev and OE continue to be the bottom-feeders, at around $3/pack (still less than retail from 15 years ago).

SCS SR Fantasma was bid up to a hair-curling $205.50!

Hot take:

Over 1300 loose boosters were sold in this time period (not including those sold in sealed boxes), totalling almost $7,000 in sales. In booster boxes, nearly 1700 packs were sold, for a total of $9500. That's a total of 3000 packs at over $16,000! It's likely that a lot of those boosters will go into a drawer somewhere, but no doubt a good number of them are being cracked open.
